Hickory Street

By Lauren Abram

Located in downtown Austin, Hickory Street Bar and Grill can be considered a Chili’s with an Austin twist. There are plenty of choices on the menu, including queso and an all you eat salad, soup and dessert bar. In order to cater to the student population of Austin, and all of those that just don’t want to spend their life savings on dining out, Hickory Street has designed their menu to where 95% of the menu is priced under $10.

If you’ve never met Leslie, you just might have your first encounter with him at this local spot. Leslie, who once ran for mayor, is an local Austinite who entertains the locals with his many antics and ways of dress. Cross-dressing in Austin? No shock there right?

Parking downtown is never fun, but there are a few spots off of Congress to choose from. Be sure to pay the meter!

Hickory Street Bar and Grill is uniquely Austin!
