Flipnotics

Located: 1601 Barton Springs Rd.

Flipnotics (located at 1601 Barton Springs Rd.) hosts free live music every night, so if you find yourself bored and craving live music on a Monday or even a Wednesday, head down to this coffee shop. It’s quite a cozy spot- warm lights strung up outside on the patio create an intimate listening environment.

Enjoyed the info. I will have to check out flipnotics.

I am also doing a blog about coffee shops in Austin. Where do you recommend?

  2. Oh man, there are so many. If you haven’t yet read my earlier post about coffee, check it out (“If You’re In The Mood For Coffee”). Some good ones that I didn’t mention are Caffe Medici on Guadalupe next to campus, Summermoon on S. 1st St., Dominican Joe at 515 S. Congress Ave., and Epoch at 221 W. North Loop Blvd. And I’ve never been to Thunderbird (at 1401 Koenig Ln.), but it’s on my to-do list.

Here’s another blog with the author’s choice of top 3 coffee shops in South Austin (of which Summermoon is one):

    Hope this helps!

  3. I was actually planning on going to Spider House this weekend. I’ve been there only once, but it was too crowded. There wasn’t a place to sit. Hopefully I’ll have better luck this weekend.

Thanks for the info on other good coffee shops in the Austin-area. Several of them are already on my list of places to check out for my blog.

  4. Yeah, Spider House tends to be crowded depending on the time and if there’s some kind of scheduled event happening. Did you go to get some work done or for drinks/a social thing?
