As a fun time for people of all ages, families and students alike, the University of Texas football team hosts its annual spring football game at Darrell K. Royal Texas Memorial Stadium this Sunday, April 3, 2011.
The free festivities opened Sunday morning, with families and children having access to the field level and meeting and greeting their favorite players. Many took advantage of this because, honestly, how many opportunities do you get to take pictures on Longhorn turf?
The spring game started at 2pm with thousands ready to catch a glimpse at the Longhorns team of the 2011 season. Quarterbacks Garrett Gilbert and Case McCoy didn’t disappoint along with the explosive power of the offensive line and secondary. When polled to see what the crowd was most excited for, “passing plays for touchdowns” outscored the rest.
The Showband of the Southwest, and Texas Cheer and Pom were on hand to entertain the crowd.
Famous faces joined the audience at DKR, including Quan Cosby, and Colt McCoy himself.
After the game, families are given the option to stay in DKR to enjoy Toy Story 3 on the nations biggest collegiate screen, the Godzillatron.
